Proverbs 16:2

People may be pure in their own eyes,
    but the Lord examines their motives.”

1. What is one situation in which you thought you were right but God later revealed your motives were wrong?

2. What steps can you take to invite God to examine your motives?

3. Sit in prayer today and ask God to align your thoughts about yourself with his thoughts of you. Ask him to bring you to a place of balance, acknowledging and accepting your sin while also receiving his love and accepting your worth.

Proverbs 15:22

Plans go wrong for lack of advice;
    many advisers bring success.”
